A Message from the Board of Education

The Board of Education is committed to working with the community which owns these outstanding public schools, and the staff and administration that make a daily commitment to the betterment of every child.

Medina City Board of Education

The Medina City Schools Board of Education consists of five elected officials who represent the residents of the school district. They are elected on a nonpartisan ballot to overlapping four-year terms.

They meet at 6:00 p.m. on the third Monday of each month at Medina High School, Distance Learning Lab, 777 E. Union St. If the third Monday is a holiday, they will usually meet on the fourth Monday. Regular board meetings are open to the public, and are also broadcast live on our Armstrong educational access channel 36.

In accordance with O.R.C. 3313.15, the Medina City School District Board of Education sets its regularly scheduled meetings at its organizational meeting. The meetings are announced in the Medina County Gazette as well as other sources.

The meeting room is handicapped accessible. Upon request to the Business Manager (330-636-3032), the district will make reasonable accommodation for a disabled person to be able to participate in this activity.

The business meeting allows time for public participation, Board and administrative reports, and usually a presentation about a topic of concern. Occasionally an executive session (closed to the public) may be called to discuss a personnel or legal matter.

Board meetings are videotaped and broadcast on Medina Cable Access (MCA) Channel 36.

Two members of the Medina City Board of Education represent the school district on the Medina County Career Center Board of Education.
